Player Registration/Tryouts
The State College Junior Icers are holding evaluations for the 2008/2009 travel hockey season. The evaluation process plays a major role in what teams SCYIHA will field for the 2007/08 season. At this time, it is the intention of SCYIHA to field teams at the following levels:
Mite A Minor
Squirt AA
Squirt A Minor
Peewee A Major
Bantam A Major
Midget U16AA
Midget U18 A Major
While these are the teams that we plan to field for the upcoming season, the number and quality of skaters at each level will be the final determination. Also, PAHL has the last word in playing levels for each team. This is done once rosters are set.
SCYIHA strongly encourages everyone interested in playing for the Jr. Icers this fall to attend both evaluation sessions. All potential players will be evaluated during these sessions, with those at Squirt level and above being ranked by their performance. The dates and times for evaluations are as follows:
Squirt Tryouts:
Sunday, April 6th: 9:15am to 10:15 am
Saturday, April 27th: 9:15am to 10:15 am
Peewee Tryouts:
Sunday, April 6th: 8:00am to 9:00am
Saturday, April 27th: 8:00am to 9:00am
Bantam Tryouts:
Sunday, April 6th: 10:30am to 11:30am
Sunday, April 27th: 10:30am to 11:30am
Midget Tryouts:
Sunday, April 6th: 11:45am to 12:45pm
Sunday, April 27th: 11:45am to 12:45pm
Tryouts are not required for the mite team. Those interested in playing for the 2008 mite team should contact the head coach, Rob Jacobs at robjacobs71-At-gmail.com.
If you are new to State College Hockey a registration form is attached for your convenience. If you print out the form, fill it out, and bring it with you to evaluations, it will help speed the sign in process along. Returning players will have a pre-printed form waiting for them at evaluations. Please arrive at evaluations 45 minutes prior to the start of your session to allow ample time to complete the sing in process. Also, anyone new to SCYIHA will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate.
